Kyler's big PARTY!

This year we did our kids party and family party together (never again haha!). It was a lot of fun but lots of work. We rented a bouncer which the kids loved, Ky was in awe when he saw it in the backyard. All the decorations were ordered from ebay and I slaved lol the day before making his cake. He was so happy to have friends over, we really had a great time. He got lots of lovely gifts and will probably always remember this birthday!

Here are some pics from the day!

Kyler turns 4!

This day came way too fast. Its like you close your eyes for a second and they are no longer a baby. Our son is such a blessing, he lights our lives in ways we never thought possible. He is such a hoot and really helps keep us grounded. Ky is full of life, like no person I know. He is so full of energy and excitement in all he does. Most people are amazed at what a sweet boy he is. He is so loving with his sister, watching him with her just melts my heart and makes me such a proud mom. He is so gentle and loving. He loves to show her new things and help with her in any way he can.
We celebrated Ky's 4th birthday a little differently this year, as Daddy had to work. Ky was lucky to have some family in from BC & Alberta to help him celebrate. Both his Aunts were in town and he got to spend time with both on his big day. He was treated to a special lunch with Grandma and his Aunty Celena and cousin Sadie joined. He really had a fabulous time and it allowed for mommy to do some last minute running around and pick up Daddy since he was only working half a day. When everyone was finally home get got to open his presents, his expressions while opening presents are priceless, and really do make buying for him awesome.

This is what Kyler came up to find in the morning, he got to open one gift before Daddy came home which was Toy Story 1. It was great because it occupied his time till it was time to go for lunch. We always get a helium tank and he was so thrilled to see all the balloons!

Our yearly dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory! He did not like when they came out and sang happy birthday to him. He was really sweet and shared his ice cream with his sister.

I made him a Mario cake (his theme this year was toy story but he really loves Mario!), he loved it! We took the cake over to Todd's parents so everyone could enjoy it with us!

Where does time go!

I seem to find less and less time to get the things I need to get done on the computer as both kids become more active (and into stuff!). These days most of my time is spent keeping up with the kids and housework but I intend to take the next few days to catch up the blog, all the way back to where we left off, Ky's 4th birthday! So much has happened in the time since then and its amazing how much can change!

As I sit here typing I am also watching Ky at the other end of the table playing Sonic Colors on the DS and Irelynn dancing the music. I really couldn't ask for a better way to spend my days. Kids give you a whole new perspective on life and each day they teach you something new. But I have learned that the most important lesson they teach us daily is to savor and enjoy every minute because it goes by so fast. I look back to just a year ago and Irelynn was just a tiny baby, Todd was home on parental leave and Ky was just a little boy who could sorta play the wii! Now here we are a year later, a toddler and preschooler in tow and Todd working a corporate job for a really great company.

We look forward to what 2011 will bring for our family. So many big things. Kyler turns 5 and in the fall be off to Kindergarten, and we will begin to consider the thought of once again expanding our family. Todd and I both love being parents, our kids are definitely our world and we are so blessed.

And with that I will add a couple pictures and then run to change Miss Irelynn. I shall be back later to catch everyone out there in blogland on what the last 6 months has held for our crew!

Hello Summer!

Here we are again, weeks since my last post. I guess you can tell that my kids keep me busy. Well actually its not just the kids these days, Todd & I are also the soccer convenors for our community center as well as coach/manager for Ky's soccer and t-ball teams. So his sports keep us going 3 nights a week.

On top of our sports we have been getting ready for summer, out in the yard cleaning it up, getting ready to do some planting and figuring out where each yard toy belongs. The weather is finally nice so we are trying to get the kids outside as much as possible. Irelynn has no fear of the grass like her brother did and loves it so much she often tries to eat it. Now that she is mobile it means that we have to watch her very closely. It amazing (yet again) how much your life changes when your baby starts to move, and when they do start they move so fast.

On the weekend it go up in the high 20's so we cleaned up the little pool, put some warm and cold water in and lets the kids go in. Irelynn lasted much longer then Ky and LOVED it. She had a ball! It was so cute to watch her splash and be adventurous in the pool! The kids always play so well together and you can see in some of the pics just how much they adore each other!

This past Friday our community center had their annual Knight of Celebration, because we are volunteers we got free tickets so we decided to go check it out. We had a great time, the meal was really tasty and then we took the kids on a horse ride, both really enjoyed it! We left for a bit and went back in time to check out the fireworks, which were awesome, for a community center it was a very impressive display! Irelynn had fallen asleep int he car on the way back so I stayed in the car with her while Ky & Todd went into the field to check it out!

How Ky managed to get ice cream on the brim of his hat is beyond me lol

Well I make no promises but I will try to update soon! Our baseball team is going out on the field with the Goldeyes during the home opener game on Friday and Irelynn was 7 months yesterday so I will try to post some pics! Hard to believe 7 months has gone by. Its crazy. She has 8 teeth, she is on solids, has been pooping on the potty for a month and is sleeping a lot better at night (just the past few days as we seem to have a break from getting new teeth!).

Less then a week!!

So we are now less then a week until the kids and I fly off to Alberta to visit my family. On one side of things I am very excited to see my sister and her kids, I miss them so much and I am excited for them to meet Irelynn. I am very sad to not have Todd join us. When we booked the tickets Todd was working so he was not able to come but now that he is not he will just be home. It will be the longest we have ever been apart in the whole time we have been together. I know we are going to have a great time and the kids will do fine. I just have those normal worries like, will the baby sleep ok away from her bed. Will the kids do well on the flights. Just normal worries!

We are enjoying the warm weather here and spending lots of time together as a family before we go. I am excited for Todd that he is going to get a week to catch up on some much needed sleep. I have a few easy tasks for him to do while he is gone and it sounds like a few people might try to put him to work. Though I hope that people will remember just how dedicated and hands on he is as a Dad and know he needs this rest. Todd gets up and brings the baby to me every night when she needs to feed, when she gets up early he gets up with her and Ky too and lets me sleep in. Never complains he just does what he can to be a helpful dad.

Our week apart will involve lots of missing each other but will be really great when we come home. I imagine the first day or two Todd will hear the kids and go to check on them only to remember we are on holiday. We are putting some money on the pay as you go phone so I can send texts to his email and taking the laptop so I can send pics daily. He also plans to call every night to say goodnight to the kids and read them a story (tho I don't think he will get a chance to since their cousins will want to lol).

Well that was a rambling post, its late lol. But I hope to post again tomorrow about our trip to the museum today with my mother inlaw and post some pics! I also need to post a video of Irelynn rolling, she's too cute and she even gets her knee's up under her to try and move forward. As soon as she puts the hands and knee's up at the same time she will be off. Where does time go?!?!

We moved!

7 weeks ago we moved into our new home, its amazing! We are so happy here and finally free of mold (and a away from our crappy landlord!). Our new home has an open concept and its bright and inviting! Everything is fresh and clean and really is a perfect fit for us! We are so lucky to have found this new place! There is lots of room in the basement for all of the kids toys and lots of room to move around! Both kids have their own rooms and have settled in perfect! We have a dishwasher which has been amazing and finally a dryer that works and doesn't leave grease marks on our clothing! We have a great sized backyard and deck which will be awesome this summer. We are in a great neighbourhood with lots of families on our street! We signed Ky up for soccer and t-ball this spring and can hardly wait to meet more families in our area. We have already picked the school we will be sending Ky to in the fall of 2011 (boy is that coming fast!) and found a preschool program we hope to get him in this fall! We are so happy to have such a awesome fresh start. Here are a couple pics of where we are now, more to come as soon as I remember to take pics of the rest of the house!

In the pictures of the kitchen you will notice our patio table, we now have a beautiful dining room table Todd's parents bought for us!

Hello spring, is that you?

Winter is so long, its brutal. And its even worse when you have kids. Its such a hassle to get them all bundled up and then get them out and to wherever you are going. Most of the time its just not worth the trouble. Having a newborn at the end of fall was not easy. Being a social person that likes to get out it was hard to be housebound for much of the winter, throw into the mixture a flu pandemic and some extremely cold weather is made for a long winter. I couldn't be more thankful that Todd was home to keep me company during the long winter months. I do admit tho, we got to spend ore quality time as a family which has been wonderful.
Our whole family has welcomed spring with open arms. It means going out without a million layers and no cover on Irelynn's face and daily walks. Its so awesome to be able to walk! And what a perfect time for spring to arrive, when its roll up the rim time at Tim Hortons lol! Its a 10 minute walk with the kids and its fresh air for all. Miss Irelynn usually falls asleep and Ky can handle the whole walk!

Here is a pic from Irelynn's first ride in the roller (ride minus her carseat that is!)
