A Pirate party & playdate!

Kyler's best friend recently moved into a new house, during their move they purchased a really awesome new play structure and were excited to have my moms group over for a playdate. My niece and nephew joined us and there was one of our out of town moms as well. It was a great time minus Ky pulling his pants down and starting to crap under the play structure, thankfully I caught him.

A few days later we were back to celebrate Malcolm's 4th birthday. It was a pirate themed party and I found a costume on clearance for Ky to wear. It was a really great time and all the kids had a blast. Ky and Malcolm have been buddies since they were 9/10 months old!

Water fun!

There was no shortage of hot weather and we wanted to take full advantage of it. We knew it wouldn't last for long so we were sure to get out to the splash pads and wading pools and use our own pool. We even took Irelynn for her first swim in a big pool! It was so much fun, both kids just love being in the water and it was such a great way to cool down.

A highlight would definitely be going to the St Norbert splash pad, it was drizzling when we got there, cleared right up and and when we left a huge storm started. Irelynn loved having Daddy take her through the water, she had no fear at all. Ky gained so much courage from last year when it took him almost half an hour to venture through the small water features, this year he was off without a care in the world, roaring with laughter and squeals as he ran!

The kids grandparents put a pool on their deck for them, they had lots of fun every time they played in it!

Our trip to Bonivital pool was great. The kids had a really good time and it wasn't too busy. A nice way to spend a rainy summer day. And for only $10.83 for our whole family to swim you can't beat it!

Oh Canada!!

This year we did not do our normal Canada Day activity (go to my Grandma's block for their festivities). So instead we decided to make it a day of water fun. We got the pool in backyard filled up and the kids lathered up and into their swimming gear and out we went!

All ready to go!

After we were done having fun at home we decided we would take the kids over to see their grandparents. They bought a really neat slip'n'slide and it was a pretty hot day so it was the perfect time to try it out! Irelynn loved sitting at the bottom having her Daddy and big brother slide down towards her. It was cute watching Ky learn how to slide properly! The day was lots of fun and ended off with a great BBQ.

I took the opprotunity to take some pics of the kids since my IL's have such a great garden all through their yard. As Irelynn gets older it is getting harder and harder to capture pictures of her, but I managed to get a couple! I really wanted some pictures to capture their cute outfits I had picked up from Gymboree in summer 2009.

We ended the day off with deciding to go see the fireworks 10 minutes before they started. We rushed down and parked at Todd's office. I stayed in the van with Irelynn and Todd took Ky out to see the show. It was pretty funny when he walked back to the van with Ky on his shoulders and discovered under Ky's nightshirt was nothing but bare butt lol. It turned out to be bad idea to park at Todd's work as they closed main down for half an hour, so we were stuck in the van. But we had a great time and learned that we need to make a better choice when parking next year!

Half Moon Cafe!

A yearly tradition for us to is make the trip out to Lockport to have dinner at the Half Moon Cafe. Recently they redid it and its a pretty neat place. The food is always tasty and the trip is always ended with ice cream. We let Irelynn have some of the bun and it gave us a bit of a scare when she choked. But none the less it was lots of fun and great memories for our whole family! We look forward to next summer when Irelynn will get her own dinner off the menu!

Just a glimpse into our trip.

More cousins visiting!

My sister and her kids made the long journey out from Alberta. They came for about 3 weeks and we got to spend lots of time with the kids. We took them to wading pools, the zoo and parks, had them over for sleepovers and movies and just had a lot of fun. Kyler really loves his cousins and was so happy to be able to spend time with them. Irelynn and my niece Sadie were not best of friends but I am sure they will love to play with each other when they are older since they are only 11 months apart!
My sister and her girls went back mid July and Caiden stay an extra two weeks, one of those weeks he stayed with us. Its unbelievable how much energy Ky & Caid have together but they had so much fun.
Almost all of our kids cousins live out of province which is sad for them, they have 2 here (11 & 18)so there is not a huge bustle of kids at family gatherings. Something we both wanted for our kids.

Here are some of the best pics!

A special visit!

For the first time Ky & Irelynn got to meet their Aunty Robin (Todd's sister) and her 3 boys Dennis(5), Travis(3) and Carson (4mo.), they flew out all the way from Sardis, BC. It was wonderful for my IL's to finally be able to have all the young grandkids together and to see the boys having fun together.
We had lots of great adventures while they were here including a trip to the Childrens Museum and the Zoo. The boys enjoyed playing Wii together and Dennis was able to come to Ky's birthday party. They came out and watched one of Ky's baseball games and Dennis joined in on the warm up and there was a big BBQ in their honor. Like any visit it went by really fast and we were saying goodbye before we knew it. Hopefully it won't be 5 years before we see them again.

Here are some pics from their visit!

And thats a wrap for this seasons sports!

Boy were we nuts this year, we took on a lot as convenors of our community centers soccer and than coaching both of Ky's teams (soccer and tball). We had a lot of fun and met lots of wonderful families in our community. Next year Ky will only be in baseball, he seemed to enjoy it a lot more and we connected with the other families more. We planned the windup for all of the soccer kids (4 teams) and then just our baseball team. It was lots of fun and so cute to see Ky with his medals.
For baseball we went bowling and had a really great time. Soccer was small and simple with cake and treats and the handing out of metals and balloons for each child.

Here are a few pics from both windups!

Baseball! Our bowling windup for baseball was so much fun! We ordered the metals from the USA and they were so awesome. Ky was so happy to send time with his Hannah, the only girl on our team and probably the only reason Ky would go to baseball! I made the cake for our windup!
