So we are now less then a week until the kids and I fly off to Alberta to visit my family. On one side of things I am very excited to see my sister and her kids, I miss them so much and I am excited for them to meet Irelynn. I am very sad to not have Todd join us. When we booked the tickets Todd was working so he was not able to come but now that he is not he will just be home. It will be the longest we have ever been apart in the whole time we have been together. I know we are going to have a great time and the kids will do fine. I just have those normal worries like, will the baby sleep ok away from her bed. Will the kids do well on the flights. Just normal worries!
We are enjoying the warm weather here and spending lots of time together as a family before we go. I am excited for Todd that he is going to get a week to catch up on some much needed sleep. I have a few easy tasks for him to do while he is gone and it sounds like a few people might try to put him to work. Though I hope that people will remember just how dedicated and hands on he is as a Dad and know he needs this rest. Todd gets up and brings the baby to me every night when she needs to feed, when she gets up early he gets up with her and Ky too and lets me sleep in. Never complains he just does what he can to be a helpful dad.
Our week apart will involve lots of missing each other but will be really great when we come home. I imagine the first day or two Todd will hear the kids and go to check on them only to remember we are on holiday. We are putting some money on the pay as you go phone so I can send texts to his email and taking the laptop so I can send pics daily. He also plans to call every night to say goodnight to the kids and read them a story (tho I don't think he will get a chance to since their cousins will want to lol).
Well that was a rambling post, its late lol. But I hope to post again tomorrow about our trip to the museum today with my mother inlaw and post some pics! I also need to post a video of Irelynn rolling, she's too cute and she even gets her knee's up under her to try and move forward. As soon as she puts the hands and knee's up at the same time she will be off. Where does time go?!?!

We moved!
7 weeks ago we moved into our new home, its amazing! We are so happy here and finally free of mold (and a away from our crappy landlord!). Our new home has an open concept and its bright and inviting! Everything is fresh and clean and really is a perfect fit for us! We are so lucky to have found this new place! There is lots of room in the basement for all of the kids toys and lots of room to move around! Both kids have their own rooms and have settled in perfect! We have a dishwasher which has been amazing and finally a dryer that works and doesn't leave grease marks on our clothing! We have a great sized backyard and deck which will be awesome this summer. We are in a great neighbourhood with lots of families on our street! We signed Ky up for soccer and t-ball this spring and can hardly wait to meet more families in our area. We have already picked the school we will be sending Ky to in the fall of 2011 (boy is that coming fast!) and found a preschool program we hope to get him in this fall! We are so happy to have such a awesome fresh start. Here are a couple pics of where we are now, more to come as soon as I remember to take pics of the rest of the house!
In the pictures of the kitchen you will notice our patio table, we now have a beautiful dining room table Todd's parents bought for us!

Hello spring, is that you?
Winter is so long, its brutal. And its even worse when you have kids. Its such a hassle to get them all bundled up and then get them out and to wherever you are going. Most of the time its just not worth the trouble. Having a newborn at the end of fall was not easy. Being a social person that likes to get out it was hard to be housebound for much of the winter, throw into the mixture a flu pandemic and some extremely cold weather is made for a long winter. I couldn't be more thankful that Todd was home to keep me company during the long winter months. I do admit tho, we got to spend ore quality time as a family which has been wonderful.
Our whole family has welcomed spring with open arms. It means going out without a million layers and no cover on Irelynn's face and daily walks. Its so awesome to be able to walk! And what a perfect time for spring to arrive, when its roll up the rim time at Tim Hortons lol! Its a 10 minute walk with the kids and its fresh air for all. Miss Irelynn usually falls asleep and Ky can handle the whole walk!
Here is a pic from Irelynn's first ride in the roller (ride minus her carseat that is!)

Cheese!!
Irelynn has 2 teeth!! We were shocked to find her first tooth on Feb 16th. She had been grumpy and screaming and then she was chewing on my finger and lo and behold there was a tooth!! So young, not even 4 months yet! And then a week later the 2nd tooth appeared, we couldn't believe our little girl got her first teeth so early. They are almost halfway up now and super cute. When she realizes they are there she moves her tongue over them all the time, its so cute! As soon as we can get a good shot of her teeth we will post a pic!
Two times the fun!
It is so fun having two kids and I must admit its a lot easier then I thought it would be. I am so happy we waited as long as we did. Kyler is such a happy boy and it really shows when he plays with his sister. He is so loving and attentive to her and it just melts my heart. Of course there are times when he needs a reminder to be gentle or nice but more often he is being a wonderful big brother. He loves to give her toys and lay beside her on the floor. When she wakes he loves to crawl in her crib with her and take her out of her swaddling blanket. If she is fusing he is quick to assess her needs and try and make her happy again. She is so lucky to have him. Often when she cries he will inform us that "baby sister wants boobie milk", such a smart boy lol. Each day I am so thankful to have such an amazing little boy. He warms my heart and makes me so proud of who he is becoming.
Here are some recent pics of the kids playing and our attempt at getting some pics of them together. I seem to always pick picture taking time when Irelynn is tired lol.
Our handsome lil man!

He thinks he is a ninja!

This is what happens with you have a helpful big brother!(all the toys had been up on her!)

And then he puts a "lid" on you!

Our attempt at some new pics of the kids together!

Here comes the talking!
Irelynn has begun talking! It is certainly an exciting thing for our household. Ky is so excited to finally hear his little sister saying some words! Of course her first words are dada, but no surprise, she has an awesome Dad and gets to spend lots of time with him! Now that she can say it she never stops!
Here is a video from the night she starting saying Dada!
